I took my last pill on OCT 21, and then I bleed like I usally do, but I never started my next pack a week later. I have been having unprotected sex many times, but I took a PG test last night it was NEG, I was heart broken :(
How long do you think it will take for me to Ovulate again, and when should I expect my period? I want to get PG as soon as I can?

Any help?
PS, I have been on the pill for about 4.5 years. Will I ever be able to have a baby again?
Thanks

You need to stop freaking out. It's totally normal. First off, depending on what pill you were taking it could take around 3 months for everything to get back to normal. After that, statistics show that it takes the average couple 6-9 months to get pregnant. Relax!! Have fun! It will come to you.

hi. i was on the pill for 8 years and stopped taking them at the end of my pack in September. i was sure id get pregnant right away because they say usually youre most fertile the first moth after stopping the pill. well, i was a week late but not pregnant. i know its discouraging but just keep trying :) i know when I'm ovulating because i get pains - but its different for everyone. My doctor told me it could take a few months to start ovulating again. Also when i was on the pill i had my period every 28 days. now its more like 31...so id say by the end of this month you should get your period. When you do - just write down how long your cycle was, then you can go to a website to track your fertility. just google "ovulation calender" - hope this helps. good luck and lots of baby dust to you :)

I was on the pill for 17 years before going off to conceive. I made the mistake of waiting one cycle to make sure my period was regular. My OB told me that you have a better chance getting pregnant the first cycle off the pill because you are more likely to ovulate that month. My OB also informed me that the pill only stays in your system for 1 day, which is why you have to take 1 everyday to avoid pregnancy. When you go off the pill, your body goes back to it's natural state. Therefore, if you had irregular periods before going on the pill, you will most likely have them when you go off. In the 17 years I was on the pill, I skipped a period twice.

My suggestion would be to make an appointment with your OBGYN and let him/her know you are ttc. If you haven't gotten your period since going off the pill and your test is negative, then ask your OB to do a blood test to make sure. My period was very late when I was ttc. My OB did a blood test to make sure I wasn't pregnant, then gave me Prometrium (progesterone) to help start my cycle. He also gave me Clomid that cycle to help me ovulate. I conceived that month. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. It took another 9 months to conceive again, but I have a healthy baby girl. I am in my 5th month ttc another baby.

Best of luck to you.

It took me about 6 months to start ovulating again. Your body has to get used to producing it's own hormones again, instead of just ingesting the synthetic hormones it is used to. Give it time. I quit taking the pill 13 months ago and am now 3.5 months pregnant. It will happen for you... just enjoy the trying.

Im in the same exact boat as you are. I stopped my pill a month ago but havent started my period yet this month. I took a test on Tues but it was negative also. But Im still waiting to start.
Ive had some PMS symptoms but most of them can also be preg. symptoms but still nothing.
It is frustrating I know!!!!! I guess we have just got to be patient.

its going to bypass by potential of using as quickly as you stopped via hormonal alterations (its such as you began taking the sugar pills as quickly as you stopped taking the pills thoroughly). so now you would be cyclic around that component era as against the origional. you are able to no longer in any appreciate end taking drugs without talking on your dr approximately it. now i could bypass to a dr and be sure you're certainly no longer pregnant and discover out what to do approximately beginning up the pill decrease lower back (as quickly as you will after the ulcer subject concerns)
