I'm not trying to get to Wall Street, just upper management in a small southern city, either in museum, library, or insurance businesses.

Primary reason, then, would be that you believe the knowledge would give you a significant competitive edge and the potential to perform better during each stage of your career. And/or that you believe it's a basic necessity to compete; ie that without an MBA you wouldn't even be considered for upper management in those fields/geography.
