Besides the Chelski chairman Abramovich, i say you have to look at the best mangers in Englands top division as being the most influencial. The manager certainly has the greatest influence on a daily basis
Man Yoo - Scotsman.
Chelsea - Portuguese
Arsenal - Frenchman
Aston Vanilla - Irishman
Everton - Scotsman
Liverpool - Frenchman
Fulham - Welsh
Out of the top 10 only Bolton, Wigan, Portsmouth have English mangers. No wonder England tend to be mince on a national level

Roman Abramovich.
No one man has had a greater influence on Football in Great Britain.
You can say Fergie if you like, but the impact that Abramovich has had in such a short time has totally revolutionised the PRemiership. The barsteward.

Got to agree with Sottee84. Bill Shankly was the greatest manager the English League has ever had.

The guy who said Rupert Murdoch has a good point...the money pumped into the top level of the game by Sky has changed football out of all recognition...not necessarily for the better. And, equally, the lack of money at the lower levels is killing the grass roots of football.

It has to be Sir Alex Ferguson. He's taken Manchester United to unprecedented heights.
Among players, in the recent past, I think Cantona, Henry and Zola have given a very good account of themselves.
