i've got oily skin and after 2 hours i'm shiny AND greasy and need to frantically dab with blotting papers. i have a friends christening coming up and need to be shine free all day for photos!
Please help!

My dermatologist recommends cleansing your face twice daily with Cetaphil Daily facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin that comes in a blue/white pump container, you can get it at pretty much any drugstore. The soap apparently reduces the amount of oil your skin produces, and that should definitely help. Here's a link:

Also try a good powder like Bare Essentials I.D. mineral veil, and get blotting papers that have a layer of powder on them. Have fun at the the christening!

Mary Kay Oil Control Lotion and Mary Kay oil mattifier are both awesome products. Trust me, I have very oily skin and live in a very humid area. The oil control lotion balances your face and is used either instead of or on top of a moisturizer and works ALL day against oil.
The oil mattifier can be put on before make-up or during the day over make-up. It dries your skin to a powdery finish as if you put powder on.
Also, the cleanser for oily skin is really good. I think the best is to use all this together because it all starts with a good cleanser. Timewise 3-1 for oily/combo skin is my recommendation. There is a deep cleanser, but it is very strong. It is good for in the morning and use the timewise at night.
These products are worth a try, especially since if you don't like them or they don't work, they are 100% guaranteed and you can return them or exchange depending on the consultant.

You MUST get the Mineral Veil from Bare Minerals... You could run a marathon and be SOOOO sweaty and then put this stuff on and it soaks evrything right up. I have really oily skin, so I put it on twice a day and it keeps my skin perfect. If you go to a Bare Essentuals store or to a Sephora store, you can try it out right there.

that last answer was funny but true....but here's my answer.....there is something you can buy at almost anywhere you go....i think its called soap....yeah yeah thats it soap....anyways you can get that anywhere.....and then you buy it take it home and get some water and wet your face and lather up your face with the soap and make sure it does NOT get in your eyes or it will burn....but im sure if you apply soap it will stop feeling oily
