I have trouble with the part about the 3 WISE men.

I'm lost on the part missing from child to adult.

The 3 wise men are actually never identified as 3 separate kings / wise men.
The total of 3 appears to come from the scriptures identifying the 3 gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh.
We have no idea how many "wise" men there were or for sure where they were from.
They are identified as "magi" which indicates they could have been mystical.
They probably learned of the prophesy from the teachings of Daniel during the dispersion in Babylon.
Its also interesting that Matthew tells us that they did go to Jerusalem first, having lost sight of the star.
Upon leaving Jerusalem, the star again appeared before them.

I believe it happened, but not literally as it is stated in the Bible. I think it happened over a period of many years. My understanding is that the wise men did not find the Christ child until He was about 3 years old.

I absolutely believe the story. the 3 wise men is what do you call those? Yeah, oxymorons. i don't know if i've yet to encounter 1 wise man. Just kidding. Yes, i do believe it and can't wait to read it to my kids

yeah, like there's such a thing as THREE WISE men.....I doubt if there's one wise man....It's one of those 'urban legends'. You've heard the stories, but it's never happened to you.
