The front has a 5 on it inside of a pentagon star shape and the back has a star and crescent moon on it with a date of 2003

I think you may have a Pakistani 5 rupee coin there!

"The waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed star is in the centre of the coin."

My catalogs do not go up to 2003, but the pentagram is used and has been used by Morocco. Pakistan uses the star and crescent but not the pentagram. Some countries mint coins so sporadic, that it takes time for the new ones to show up in catalogs. I think there was a monetary reform in Morocco and it may be one of those.It could be a 5 Dirhams. Sorry I can't be of more help.
