I once punched a kitchen counter when I was 16 (by accident--I was aiming at my kid brother!) and broke one finger joint open to the bone! That was our last fight.
For stress relief (immediate) try KICKING the door, esp. a hollow core one...it'll break & be cheap to replace). For long-term anger management, I suggest a baseball bat and a non-endangered tree, or if you're more genteel, a tennis racquet and a couch pillow.
Failing that...get some counseling for whatever is making you so angry! That's what I'm doing. We'll see if it works...RRRRGH!

It depends on the door. I've punched security doors, and those HURT!!!, but the lil cheap doors, I've actually punched holes in those and in walls with light scarring on my hands. If you're gonna punch a door, make sure it isn't the front door to a house, and instead is a bedroom door or something. You can tell by how light or heavy a door feels

No, but I know someone who punched a wall and broke dozens of small bones in his knuckles and hand...
had to have an operation, get pins put in place and rest hand.
He couldn't work and when he tried (thinking it was ok to do so), he ended up with a prolonged healing time.
If he kept going, it would have got worse, and possibly another op.
As a mechanic, he couldn't work for 6 months!

no..
but I did break a hand once ..
I broke 4 metacarpals, was without the use of my hand for almost 6 months..
it wasnt from punching a door though, that is a bit of an immature thing for me to do..
but to each their own..

Yes, and a cut one too, that is why i usually kick them or use a sledge hammer to pound out the lock or break the glass.

Yeah my boyfriend has done this numerous times. His knuckle always gets all swollen. He once even broke it... he still has trouble with that hand.

Yea and oh my gosh will it hurt!!... Just put ice on it to bring the swelling down.
If its really bad clean it and put bandages on it but make sure to let it breathe too!
