Someone (female though it must be said) said to me the other day that there is "no such thing" as a bisexual guy, that men are one way or the other only. I realised that I know many girls who are bisexual, but I don't actually know any bisexual guys. Is there such a thing as a bisexual guy, or are they always either gay or straight?

There are bisexual guys. For some reason it's "cool" or "sexy" for a girl to be bisexual, so many are more open about it than a guy would be. Also, I think a lot of girls who call themselves bisexual are just drunk/curious.

There have actually been some pretty famous bisexual men.. James Dean and David Bowie come to mind.

I think there are, but based on 2 people I know, they more strongly identify with being gay or heterosexual. I have a female co worker who also believes there are no true bisexual people of either sex- she believes that these people are just opportunists who want to "keep all the doors open and have sex with just about anyone".

A girl I talked to said the same thing! I tend to agree that it is extremely rare to be truly bisexual, but there are cases--both male and female--in which they are really attracted to both sexes. However, I think true, pre-determined bisexuals are next to none. Not exactly non-existent, but close to it.

I do think that all sexual preferences are determined at birth. There have been studies that show that the brains of homosexuals are literally "wired" differently. (You can google it.) I don't see why it wouldn't be the same for bisexuals. Therefore, none of us have any right to judge--it would be like judging someone for being brunette. (I'm not saying you're being judgemental; just making a point. :-) )

You will always hear the arguement that it is not possible for ANYONE to be bi...they are either straight or gay...
Personally I disagree with that...BUT have seen it argued often among the straight AND gay communities that it has to be one or the other...

I believe, infact I know, that yes, there are MANY bi-sexual men.

Of course there are! I dated two, there are plenty men on my bisexual e-lists, and there are some bi men here. As stated, there are also many bi male celebrities. (I add Michael Stipe from REM, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, and Marlon Brando to the list.) Bi people aren't ghosts or angels, seriously. We are real people who live real lives; you don't have to have debates about our existence.

guys don't tend to say they are bisexual. Those that admit they are gay feel confident with themselves to be "out"
Bisexual guys may feel embarrassed by the straight community because they fall into both catagories. I don't know how else to explain it because I too don't know any bi males

Since your friend is not a guy, you shouldn't be listening to her advice on guys. There are bisexual guys. I've been with a few guys who still have sex with their girlfriends after doing stuff with me

I love women, don't see myself in a relationship with another man. But I could have sex with a man, do that make me bi or just crazy?
