I can't pick just one. Although I have donated bone marrow once and done a stem cell transplant once. The two recipients both had forms of leukemia. No particular reason, they needed help, I matched, so I did it. Cancer and heart problems run through both sides of my family. Some have diabetes or hypoglycemia. I'd like to see everyone be able to live a healthy full life, but I don't want to live forever. There are lots of friends and family that are gone that I want to see again some day.

I would choose Diabetes also. My mother has it. She didn't take care of herself like she should have in the past(She was a single parent and always put her 4 kids first). She is now on kidney dialysis and had one of her legs amputated just last year. It's been hard watching her suffer. She is such a trooper though. :)
She's the type of person who doesn't want you to feel for her. This woman is and always has been my hero.

This disease seems to skip generations in my family. Therefore, my daughter or my sister's 3 kids could end up with it. I am already working on good eating, exercise habits with my daughter.

I have 3 of them... Graves disease, first, then, Epilepsy, and then diabetes... I had two neices, pass away within two years of eachother. They were only 19, and 31. The 19 year old had Graves disease, and none of us new how serious it was for her to take her medicine. I dont even think the doctor knew how important, it was for her to take it daily.. She passed in her sleep right after getting her first boyfriend, and her first job, and she'd just graduated high school, the summer before.. Then, my other neice, was a bit of a scrambled one, from hitting her head, so many times, from having seizures everywhere!! She almost drowned 3 times in the bathtub, had her sister not checked up on her, she's almost been run over by cars from having them in the middle of the street, in crossing a street. She's had 3rd degree burns, from having a seizure during her ironing... Then the poor baby, went and sufficated on her pillow, when everyone was at work, form a "Grand Mall" in 2003........She was more like my sister, than my neice, we were so close in age. Than everyone on my dads side of the family, has diabetese...I have hypoglocemia, and my sister has diabetese, as well. So that would definately be the other one..

When I meet the person I most love, should she be afflicted with a disease, I would want her cured of that disease. The same applies to any children we have. In the meantime, any diseases contracted by family members and close friends. Both parents are type 2 diabetic, so that is my major concern.

Depression, if you think it's no fun watching your daughter give herself needles then you can never imagine the misery and hell that you would go through having to deal with if your child was suffering from mental illness.
I'll compare it to what Tarashan...said about chrones and his watching a family member suffering everyday well with depression you have the sense and feeling' even if your in a large crowd, of emptiness.Only space is comparable to the emptiness we feel and even your best won't be able to deal with you anymore and fade away. This is the suffering people with depression suffer from and it is 24/7 of hell

Gymetasypria. Over three hundred million people die of Gymetasypria every year. The majority of these people live in the middle east and far east/southern east. The people infected with this disease go through painful suffering, vomitting of blood, cross eyedness to blindess, all while their insides are deteriorating. Then they die. It is not fair for these people and their families. If this disease was cured they would be much better for their lives.
