It's not about the money. Axl like most mucisians know one simple fact: Bad publicity is better than good pulicity!
Case in point Marylin Manson while he is very talanted he would not sell near the records he has without his Costume makeup and shocking antics.
touring and even cancelling shows at the last minute create publicity.

Normally I would say yes, but Axl keeps booking concerts and then cancelling. If he cancels a concert, he has to refund the money from the ticket sales. And there's probably some additional penalty to the promoters involved if he doesn't perform. Axl's probably losing money at this point. And I'm sure somebody or other is probably suing him over something. Axl's always getting sued over something because he doesn't have the common sense to quit being a dick.
I figure Axl Rose is touring just for the attention. Last I heard, Velvet Revolver is still working on their second album.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if it's solely for the $$. If rich dudes like Kiss, Genesis etc tour, then sure ol' Axl can too.

Most likely. But he's lame; GNR cancelled their Portland, ME show AFTER the civic center was full of waiting fans! Gimme a break. They only sold about 3700 tickets, all of which had to be refunded. So, Mr. Hard Rock Diva isn't helping out his checking account there.
