What a compound question! lol

Lets see, I am 27, I live in NC-USofA, and I'm white - German and Irish haritage. I consider myself somewhat bi, I am a mom of 2 boys, and am married. I am a housewife, and I suppose we'd be considered middle class. I was baptized as a catholic, but haven't been to church since I was a kid.

How do I feel as a woman in the states? huh. well, first, keep in mind, I'm NOT racist - sorry if I begin to sound it... I feel this country is becoming overrun with people of another race who can't speak a word of english, and take the jobs us americans need. Yes, I feel some deserve just as much right to be here as I do, but even after 9/11, they are comming to NC by the busloads!!! That's just not right!!! Mr Prez. doesn't help this matter either. He tries, I give him that much, but I think all it did was make it worse...

I feel sometimes scared to walk the streets for fear or someone harming me or my kids. I feel too much pressure is put on us to be thin and beautiful. That I blame the media for. This is a sad day and age for my kids to have to grow up in. They have to deal with the stupidity that our generation and prior ones didn't have to worry about. Aids, the ozone, sex, drugs, violence on games, tv and movies, and cursing in some music. Ok, so my mom didn't let me watch Married with Children when I was young, and that was all she shielded us from, other than the occasional movie she didn't screen first. That was all she had to worry about when it came to her 3 girls. Today, I MUST be careful about what music I listen to, what movies or tv shows I watch, (I miss south park...) and who's house we visit and take the kids to. People are not discreet about certain things around my kids! (drugs and sex for example) They aren't babies, and my 7 year old is extremely smart for his age! Don't talk about what you did to whom, and how in front of them!!!

Another thought for you. I said I considered myself somewhat bisexual. Well, the story behind that is, yes, I am attracted to girls, I will admit, but it's not something I believe I will ever be able to persue any time soon. I am married. My husband and my kids come first. I would never do anything to jepordise my family.

Where do stupid people come from, and why do they seem to be flocking around me and my family??? Why does my son choose the stupid, trouble-making kids for best friends in school? Why are his teachers dummer than dirt, and why are they teaching??? I may not be the smartest person I know - that would be my husband! - but for god's sake, I wish these people would go AWAY! lol

Well, I think I've done enough complaining. You asked for it though. lol I hope this helps with your study. Again, I'm sorry to everyone who feels I sound racist, but this was an open-ended opinion question, and I was just being truthful.

America, 32, white, lower, straight, married, part time secretary & part time student. I feel as though women have came along way since my mother was my age, but we still have obstacles to over come. We still have limitations and probably always will have, that just means we still have room to prove we are just as good as any man. I'm not one of those women who preaches equal rights and then has a major fit when a woman is sentenced to death for some horride crime, if she did it then she should be treated the way a man would be treated if he did the same crime. What I wish would end is women who make less than a man who has the same job. Whether it happens or not is a different story.

I feel my life is exactly the way I want it to be and I feel the only limitations I have are the ones I place on myself. I wish there was less violence in the world and a return to a more moral society. I am glad to be able to have the opportunity to stay home with my daughter and raise her as my husband and I want and not have to send her to day care.

I feel pretty good. middle class...single...not working, but putting myself through school. Other than some athletic limitations, I don't feel like I have any. (I'm not in bad shape, but ask me to run a marathon, and you'd have another thing coming.) I don't get talked down to by anyone...people treat me with respect, and I do the same.

a little cheated; yes we have so many advances, and advantages , choices but now at the age of 50 what I miss the most is the interaction that use to occur between neighbors in neighborhoods; you use to be able to leave your windows , doors open; really know your neighbors; hear children playing ball in the street instead of locking themselves up inside for playstation, computers etc; families that use to get together more often; extended families and grandparents who really grew up together and got to know each other; employers who really cared about you ; the excitement of children who really enjoyed christmas with more luster in their eyes; people who really looked to help you; children who were grateful to their parents ; we have many things to be thankful for as americans but europeans don't push as hard; enjoy life a little more; get out with people in cafes; stop by to say hello. They seem to take better care of their elderly; don't make them struggle to afford medication or care; here in US , we pay outrageous taxes still we have so many poor, elderly that are not taken care of; people hungry, mentally ill people who are cast off; education is on the back burner; our roads (connecticut) are a mess; overcrowded , little improvements; still fewer women in government offices; etc.
