The Subaru Impreza WRX is point to point on a windy road a bit of a giant killer. They are well built, very easy to handle, capable of large cornering speeds and there is a huge aftermarket for them if you wish to modify them. By chav I assume you mean Sh*thouse ( Pardon the Aussie Euphamism). They really are not, however peak speeds and acellaration over 60MPH is a little behind cars with bigger capacity motors.
At the moment my brother has an EVO and if you had to choose between and Impreza and an EVO I would say get the EVO. They are a little bit more involving and a little bit quicker. These are pretty no frills speedsters so the ride is harsh and the cabin is pretty sparse. On a windy road thse two cars can keep up with cars 4 times their price. Subarus are reliable and well built and I think you would love an impreza or an EVO.

Not at all a 'chav' car.
I have a 2.5 turbo and it will do 0-60 in under 5 seconds.
They are reliable, but..they do have a reputation for having 'chocolate' engines, hence mine now having a 2.5 instead of the normal 2 litre.
Do your homework before you buy, as some have been driven like they've been stolen, others are in excellent condition.
They are a great family car as well as having a lot of power.
I use mine to take the kids to school and also use it on track, where its extremely capable.

I owned a 1998 Impreza, drove it 100,000 miles in southern Canada and had a few problems, replacing an valve cover seal, and replacing rear wheel bearings three times. 165 HP and averaged 10 l/100km or 28mpg per Canadian gallon. I loved the car so much,I replaced it with a 2008 version,170 HP,and over the first 1700 km or10,000+ miles the average is more like 7.1l/100km or 32 mpg Cdn.Granted summer only driving so far and about 70 to 30 percent highway driving. One little bit of information,I found out the hard way. Authorized Subaru mechanics only. When it was time to change the timing belt, a very good mechanic, but untrained to the boxer engine botched the job,so I took it to a dealer- then no subsequent problems.

I used to work in a couple Subaru shops and I would think 60% of sales women bought the impreza. They are the safest in it's class. They are dependable, reliable, great handling and good on gas. Plus the demographics tell us that Imprezas are purchased by intelligent well educated people.
What is a CHAV?

NO they are not simple because Subaru's you don't have to put kits on them, they come with it all. Chavs probably steal the ideas from EVO's and Subarus. I think they are great cars and the acceleration is phenominal. I actually want one myself, i was thinking about getting the WRX or and Estate. I will have to wait about 2 years yet though. But definately not for chavs, for one they cost about 100 times more than Vauxhall Nova's lol. They are a proper car and they are designed to be like they are. Chav cars aren't but they still put like Spoilers on that look stupid. Impreza sound great to.

It depends on the driver me thinks.
You seem like a normal chap with no burberry hats, Rockports with white socks out of your Nike tracksuit bottoms and many sovereigns, so I'd say it didn't matter what car you drive you won't be chavvy.
However purchasing a Ford Xr3i's in white or Saxo VTR is exception to my rule, as they are so naff.
Seriously if you have cash to burn on a new car go for something like a Civic Type R, Golf V6 etc..
They are are so none chav - because they'd have to rob one to own one - and chav's aren't brave enough to steal, all mouth no action. :-)

Do you really need to ask this one, just look at the average driver of them.True most chavs can't afford a new one but keep it more than 3 years and you might turn into burberry boy.

YES - Massive, over the top spoilers, full body kit (nice and cheesy) pretty much means it is safe to define this as chav. In fact its not just ordinary, plain chav. Its king chav of chavingdom mountain - which is in Essex apparently.

No.
There is no such thing as a Chav car. Whether the driver is a chav or not can not be determined by the car they drive.
