No, I would not automatically think they were a religious "nut," nor would I abuse him or her even if I thought they were.

This question suggests you have had such an experience, probably as the questioner, and answerers abused you for it. Please be advised that very few people really are rude and hostile here, but they do exist, and that's why we have the "report abuse" function.

On the other hand, people who don't mean to be rude often are, simply because they do not know what will offend someone who is different from themselves. If someone says they are a member of a particular religious group, it is natural that some misinformation and misunderstanding creeps into a person's information about religions other than their own.

And some religions do really have doctrine about who or what God is and what He or She wants from us which are offensive to others on their face. I am told Muslims believe that I am an infidel, and that their tradition includes a recommendation that anyone who does not convert should be put to death. I don't think many modern Muslims act like that, anymore than I think Catholics are still burning witches at the stake. But it does tend to make one a bit stand-offish, you know?

Just like some people are going to cringe or otherwise act negatively when I tell them I am a witch. They have been taught that means I dance with the devil in the pale moonlight, but I don't. Never even met the guy. Well, no, I'm not sure that's strictly true . . . but I didn't like him. But to some people, the term "white witch" is an inherent contradiction. I can't let their misconceptions get to me.

No not until I read what they had to say. If it was discriminating in anyway or abusive then I might. But haven't reported anyone yet, just don't reply.

No, I wouldn't just go and judge them like that. If I didn't like what they said, I'd give them constructive criticism or just pick another question to answer.

Yes I would think that they were, but I would not abuse him.

I would only feel sorry for him.

Whether or not we have "religion" is not up to us to decide.

Its really up to God.

I would make the assumption that they were but I certainly wouldn't abuse them for it. (There's an awful lot of angry abusive people on here today don't you think?)

I'll be too indifferent to think beyond if the question don't spark my interest.
