How many people just went to their front window with their car key stuck to their head. Please tell me i'm not the only looney!
It does work though - I can't usually unlock my car from my front door. Better go and lock it again now.

I once saw Jeremy Clarkson try this on top gear, but it wasn't because the battery was low. He said that if you put it to your head it increased the range, and on the show it worked.

,It actually does work . ,
By using this UHF transmitter by your head you are in fact using your head as a directional reflector ,Thereby sending all the transmitted energy in one direction.
The same principal as a parobol .
You can use your throat as well ,I find this works even better.
These are very low powered devices with a much lower frequency than cellular phones they usually just send out a short pulse. I could not think this short pulse would cause any harm.

because your body acts like an antenna...like holding the antenna on a radio and you suddenly can pick up that station...yes it works....but there has to be some sort of long term side effects to it such as radiation

It's probably something to do with heat from your skin - maybe just holding it tightly in your hand would have the same effect

You can also put a key in each ear and this makes you deaf..
As well as pretty silly looking.

They did it on Top Gear. It actually increases the range of it.
