If he has access to your computer, then he could look at your internet history - you can clear this information by pressing shift-delete in Firefox, or by delving into the internet options in IE somewhere.
If he does not have access to your computer, then no, it is not possible for him to find out what you've been up to. Some companies have systems that track all sites you visit - but they have to make you aware of that. Residential internet service does not have this capability.

if your not a wizz (so he doesn't think you can hide anything) and he's not getting hardware to look for things (IE, he's not suspicious of anything) then every time you leave the computer,
right click on the Explorer icon
go down and select Internet properties
then clear history, Delete files and delete cookies
this should at least stop a very basic search of your Internet history use.... other Wise a child could find what your doing... hope this helps

Yes, he can very well trace your 'internet footsteps'. It all depends on your set-up, and how much he actually watches you. If he gets on your computer, all he has to do is click on the history button at the top of the web browser to see all sites visited. if he clicks on the down arrow in the address bar, he can see all sites' addresses that you typed in, and if he isn't using your computer, and you have router at home, then the router can track all websites visited. Also, he could always get a keylogger which would record all of your keystrokes. Your best bet would be to use a different computer outside of your home.
Hope this helps.

There is a way she can find out, provided she knows how to do it. If she is computer smart, there is a section called Recent. She could type that in the search section of the computer and find out, also there is a thing called Temporary Internet Files that stores that information, despite the fact you've deleted the history.

Is he going to look at your computer? Is your computer in the same network as his (probably is if you both use the same network connection or you can transfer files to one another).
He could monitor your PC on an ongoing basis, your history is kept under a folder called C:\Documents and Settings\your name\local settings\history you would need to delete this after you made your transaction..
Also you might want to right click your task bar, choose Properties, select the advanced tab and hit the clear list button.
Finally go in to Internet explorer and use the delete files and delete cookies option.
After that he's having to try very very hard to see what you're doing.

Download Free Internet Eraser, or download C Cleaner.
All you have to do is type it in your search browser and press search. Once downloaded you can erase all your tracks up to NASA standard. It will overwrite your history 7 times making it virtually impossible for him to track your movements. These two I use all the time. They are free and really work. I use them because they will also clean other bits of leftover rubbish. Every click on your PC is recorded even if you are not on the net. Windows history cleaner leaves loads behind. These remove everything and as I said they are FREE to download and free to use. People who accuse you of stuff don't realise that any PC will fill up with rubbish over time, even if it has never been used on the Internet. These will keep your PC clean and will improve the performance of your PC. I believe you and have to say that not all of us are sinister just because we want to keep our PCs clean. I declare that I have no connection to these products and this is not an advertisement. I gain nothing from this other than it makes me feel good to help people like yourself. Good Luck with your holiday, and as we say in Cornwall Far an Tar. It means basically, have a safe holiday.

yes he can and just by deleting your history in firefox or internet explorer still leaves details on your computer you could try this http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=internet%20cleaner
for starters
and also in internet explorer goto tools/internet explorer/general and delete cookies and delete files and set your history to 0 days and that should wipe most of the obvious stuff out like site autosaved passwords and the likes. Another option is to download Opera from www.download.com install it thenonce installed delete the desktop shortcut and the startmenu shortcut and just start the browser by my computer/c:/program files/opera/ and click the opera.exe file
this would be best for you cause if he doesnt know the program is there he isnt gonna be checking for its history (which it saves in a tottaly differant place to ie does)

if he is a wizz with computers THEN soz but nothing is safely hidden from him on your laptop. The only ways you can keep the info from him is either lock the laptop away when your not around (which would instantly make him suspicious), use a friends comp to store the info, or if you use one at work ask your boss (explain why) if in your free time you could store the information on the work comp until you take hubby away on this lovely surprise holiday...what a lucky chap...have a great time

Yes! You can check for yourself by going to the following directory
C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
First enable the view to see hidden files. Here temp is the user name that you use to login.
This is for xp!!
