Salty lakes and ponds, where there aren't fish or other swimming predators. Their "eggs" (cysts) are resistant to drying, and can remain viable for years, so brine shrimp can inhabit very salty lakes that occasionally dry out.

Salt water. Brine=salt water. So I would say the ocean.

I think brine shrimp live in fresh water.

Hi. They are tough little critters that live in salty water and can survive being dried out (or at least their eggs can). Salt lakes.

I have seen them myself in the waters of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. You shouldn't swim in there, however; it's contaminated by mercury.

No they won't but I'd use a regular water just incase.
