The church if full of Gay's and child molesters. I have met gay priests in the past. Yet, the Pope is anti-gay. They are such hypocrites. Other Christian religions are just as bad. Most of us Gay's are NOT child molesters and hard working, law abiding citizens and pay taxes to send your children to public school.

This in reply to "ny giants". It is amusing to be reminded that ignorance is alive & doing well. At least I am not a red neck hill billy like you who sleeps with his mother, sister & daughter. If you hicks ever get a brain you would all be dangerous.

You people still don't get reality do you?
Child molestation has NOTHING TO DO WITH ADULT SEXUAL ORIENTATION OF THE PERPETRATOR!
Adult sexual orientation refers to what sexual orientation the person in question is attracted to in ADULTS.
Child molestation has NOTHING to do with ADULT SEXUAL ORIENTATION.
Child molesters don't see their victims as having a gender at all.
Most child molesters are actually ADULT HETEROSEXUAL MALES!
The typical gender of a molested child is FEMALE!
You don't hear about the thousands of little girls being sexually abused because it doesn't make for scandal, which people like you seem to thrive on.
You don't hear about the hundreds of ADULT FEMALE child molesters because no one wants to see adult women (regardless of their ADULT SEXUAL ORIENTATION) in that light.
No, you hear what you want to hear, see what you want to see and make up whatever scenario fits your miniscule minds.

The clergy is not the faith. Just because a Catholic individual does not live up to the teachings does not mean the teaching themselves are wrong. You should realize that the Pope is speaking in terms of what "should be" in an ideal world. Since we don't live in one of those, the people fall short. For you to say ALL Catholics are hypocrites because some of them don't follow the teachings, is no different from someone saying ALL Gays are child molesters because some of them are. Both statements reflect ignorance, intolerance, and a lack of respect for others by ignoring the fact that, in both cases, the ones committing the crimes are a clear minority. The majority of Catholics, like the majority of Gays, are good and decent people. I'm not Catholic, I'm Pagan, but I still find your faulty logic annoying.

Statistically speaking, less than 1% of Catholic priests have molested a child. Why would ANYONE molest a child? Because they're sick. Edit: There is no source. It's common sense. There are thousands and thousands of Catholic priests, all over the world. A few hundred, if that, have been accused of molesting a child. If there are 25000 Catholic priests worldwide, and 200 have been accused of molesting children, that means that 0.008% of Catholic priests have molested children.

The Roman Catholic Church's stance on homosexuality is a bit of a farce. "Being gay" is NOT a sin at all. "Practicing" or "acting on your homosexual impulse," on the other hand, IS a sin. So you can be... you just can't do anything about it!
Also, "gay" isn't synonymous with "child molester," although ignorance has somehow married the two in the media's coverage of the recent priest scandals. More often than not, the offending priests were men molesting little girls, though the stories that made the news were about the gay priests.
I'm with you, though. I don't want to be in a club that's not excited and enthusiastic to accept me into the club as I am. And to tell an adult that "acting on your sexual impulses is a sin"... really though??
Check out the Episcopalian Church. Gay and women priests, much more liberal stances on gay marriage and other issues... with the strong background of the Catholic Church.
Just my two cents.

Just to let you know...you've met gay priests, i guess, however, do you believe they're ALL gay and molesters?
I'm Roman Catholic and we're not saying you're child molesters...in general many are bad but we don't judge, like what you're doing to us...as in the question you asked is judging christian religions already without consulting it with others...
If you believe this is happening, report this to someone...police and such....just remember, there are others who are disturbed by these kinds of news who are ALSO Christians...
Also, in our religion being gay is fine but it disappoints God. We promised to reproduce and take care of the world yet there are men and women socializing with the same sex badly. God created MAN and WOMAN to fill the world not man to man and woman to woman...doesn't it disturb just a little bit?
GOD is against that idea, however, we don't hate those kinds of people because you're just a regular person. We understand you want to be different and we, or at least I, respect your decision in being that way. Just do good and don't do crimes like the molesting...FOllow God's good word and I know you'll be okay
:) :) :) :) :)

as you said " Most of us Gay's are NOT child molesters " that means that some are. yes the catholic church is agianst homoseuality and yes we did have some insicents about molestation in priest...we also had some probs with terrorism in islam, some evangelicals doing some drugs...it's not one specific religoin that has problem but all of them. People are human and as yo said some gaus are not child molesters but some ares so then can i say all gays are child molesters? do i have the right to generalize the action of some to the entire group?no i dont have that right it wouldnt be fair to you or others who are not molesters. so because some priest did it does that mean that all of them do it? no! if you dont want to be pointed at dont point at others like that...think your question or your judgement through.

It goes to show How wrong the Catholic religion is. They are wrong wrong wrong. The men say they are not allowed to be with women, so instead to fill their need they rape, and harm children. They pray to Mary for crying out loud and think you can be forgiven by saying prayers with beads. Somehow they see nothing wrong with that? Good God it's nuts. I agree with what you have said 100 percent. The world can really suck.

A catholic I am not, but- their stance on gay's is correct, their stance on gay's, perverts within the clergy is not correct. Since a catholic priest is "part" of "the catholic church" they can not sin theoretically. So, the church protects the priest, and victimizes the victims. This act makes "ALL" persons who call themselves catholic guilty of the crimes of the priest. If the people would stand up to the Vatican and purge the evil out, then they would have no guilt. But, they stand silent, and guilty.
However, gay is outright wrong-in any denomination. And you can not justify you gayness because some catholic priest is a pervert.

"Other Christian religions are just as bad..."
All religions -- not just Christian ones -- are run on earth by humans. Therefore, they are all guilty, in some way, of hypocrisy and a multitude of other sins. After all, to err is human. Don't judge other people and maybe they'll stop judging you.
Also, Catholics pay their taxes too.
