My mom friend is due December 20th with a little girl. She's doing her room in pink with butterflies as the decoration or whatever. Does anybody have any cute ideas of little butterfly crafts I can do to help make the baby's room for decorative?

My daughter has the same room! Pink and purple butterflies and flowers!! Thats adorable and highly a great choice :) I bought some spongy type shapes at a home center store and dipped them lightly in paint and dabbed all over..I used both pink and purple to kind of balance things out! I also bought some shelving and painted them pink and purple..Pink drapes for the windows and well as a crib canopy and of course!!!! Little butterflies hanging from the ceiling! it doesnt cost alot since I really dont have all the money in the world and as the lil baby gets older she'll love laying in her crib gazing at everything around her!! Thats so nice of you and I hope these ideas help :)

Check out some fo these crafts online. I'm not sure what you're going for, but maybe something here will catch you eye.

Another thing could be to get a few frames (8X10) and paint some pretty butterfly pictures to put in them.

Also, try doing a search for butterfly crafts on the internet. You may find something you like.

if your handy with a jig saw you can cut out and paint some cute butterfly decorations for the wall. if you sew you can also create a butterfly wall hanging. Check out the internet to find some other good ideas. Since butterflys are a common theme for decorating, then you should'nt have any trouble finding ideas! Good luck and congrats to your friend.

You could buy an unfinished wood picture frame, paint it and buy wood cutouts of butterflies and such to glue around the sides with the baby's name on the bottom.

You could create a picture for the room. You could draw a background and use 3D objects to create a scene of a garden with butterflies and frame it in a 3D frame for the wall. (sort of like a scrapbook page)

You could take the birth announcement and frame it in a 3D frame and use butterfly decorations around it.

Buy an unfinished wood shelf and use paint, transfers, 3D objects to finish it off.

There are so many things you can do, you should head to your local craft store for ideas! Something there may just jump out at you and you may want to create something around it.

Have fun!! :)

I made fabric covered photo/scrap albums for a few of my friends. They are not that hard to do (NOTE I am NOT a crafty kind of person....if I can do it ANYONE can!!!) I always get rave reviews. It is something special that the parents can have to commemorate their babies first year with their pictures and other mementos. You can use any type of fabric, and if you choose to match the nursery, it would look cute on a bedside table in the babies room.

Here is a site with instructions:

There are also books for sell at craft/fabric stores that are very detailed with step by step instructions and pictures.

Hope this helps! I Yahoo'd butterfly craft and butterfly craft baby.

There seems to be several ideas out there, so maybe you could use that search and find some more! Have a great time and let those ppl who don't get it go be miserable elsewhere ;)

You could cut out butterfly shapes and make a mobile. You could probably find pre-cut wood butterflies at Michael's or Hobby Lobby or somewhere similar and paint them. Use a couple dowel rods to hang them from and fishing line.
