Add God to that list, and you now have what keeps me grounded in my life. Maintaining a certain sanity, if you will.

Very important. Poetry can provide great wisdom, a moment of clarity, and extract deep thoughts. And music is basically poetry in sound. It can pick you up when you need it, calm you down when you're feeling crazy, set the romantic scene, or any other mood you want to be in or get out of. It's truly the only universal drug.

Music has been a major part of my life forever. I'm a little less interested in poetry, I prefer prose for the most part, as being easier to read.

I have to admit I'm not much into poetry, but music is very important in my life!!

Remember that song : "Music was my first love" (if that's the correct title) by, I think it was, John Mills??
THAT's exactly how I feel about music!!!

Some lines of that song are :
Music was my first love,
and it will be my last.
Music of the future,
and musci of the past.
To live without my music,
would be impossible to do......."

Music is a huge part of my life, poetry just serves as a useful outlet for inner anger and frustration

Music will sometimes soothe the savage beast that is JoBu and allow him to forget about the trivialness of life. Poetry provides a place for me to vent emotions on paper that are better suited there than in the face of others.

I couldn't live without music. I like poetry too. I'm just not that good at writing them.

Music has got me thru the tough times, thru the good, thru boredom, thru work. It all helps me function. To help me work. I write lyrics, to a beat, I write lyrics that are mine to keep.

I write poetry as well as understand It helpls me thru the difficult times.
it enables me to get my feelings out. It may not make sense to others but makes perfect to me, maybe because it is my work, my jumble of thoughts. I Write poetry to get me through life.

I'm 14 and have been told I am an excellent writer and have the "juice" when it comes down to it.
