Spotting in the middle of your cycle is a common sign of ovulation- I had this for the first time a few months ago and was quite worried, I assure you it is quite normal and you may never have it happen again.

Spotting can mean implantation if found about 8 days after ovulation but if it was as you said in the middle of cycle then it may not be implantation. Visit www.newbabyjubilee.com fro more info on conception or see your doctor.
Hope this helps!
