I'd prefer a bunch of bananas.
But honestly, it's really nice when a male takes time out to do something not so masculine to try to appease a female.
It's like that expression that I love getting from guys. That, "oh you're pretty face calms my male aggression, let's frollick in sunflower fields together..." face. You know what I'm talking about, right?

Depends on the woman. I like cheesy martial arts movies and science fiction/fantasy books, pop physics and books on Japanese culture. (I don't cry when I get them though). I always thought the flower thing was just an establishment-promoted cliche, but I guess for some, it really is true!
P.S. I do like potted flowering plants though, if I can keep them from dying for long enough to transplant them in the yard!

well, for many decades giving flowers to a person show how affectionate and how much you care or love a person..(well different flower have different meanings)
girls don't love it cause it is flowers...girls love it because they know the "symbolic meaning" behind your intention..
she knows you love her and care about her.. it's just that by giving flowers to her, it completes the "ritual cycle"..you have shown her with some object that you love her and cares about her...
well that is definately why she's touched when you gave her those flowers...well looks like you two will be a happy couple afterall... good luck to you two k? blessings from me...

Well for some, its the idea of it as a romantic getsure.
The 'I'm sorry' flowers mean nothing.
But any 'just becasue' or 'out-of-the-blue' gesture.. shows that your gf is on your mind and thats what makes them happy

women like for there men to give them flowers because its ROMANTIC!!! but its not just any kind of flower its must be a Rose -white or red.

My boyfriend bought me flowers and I LOVED it. He remembered my favorite kind of flower and gave me two dozen-THATS what made it special.

because usually, it means you were thinking of us at that second... especially the ones from the grocery store.. that means you probably thought "she will like these and I am thinking of her right now". Big showy productions usually mean you screwed up or are for a special occasion and you are thinking "I HAVE to get these " as opposed to WANT to get them
