my daughter had to a pay a $100.00 start up fee ($10.00 taken out of her check a week) plus $7.00 a week after that. why? i feel this is ridiculous. the union did nothing for her. there are so many laws protecting children in the work place i just don't feel a need for a union. especially when she makes about $50.00 a week before union fees.

NO, it is not right, but if that is there store policy what can you do?
I voted against a union policy in my store, because I did not think it was my place to make decisions for future employees.

where in the world do you live? Thats the craziest thing I have ever heard. Can your daughter simply work at another store? Have her quit and get a job working at the Gap or a waitres or something. Thats a ripoff

no; if she doesn't want to be in the union tell her to drop out. they can't force her to be a member.

it is fair for she made the choice to work there over another job. she is learning the facts of life when it comes to jobs
