If your question is not metaphorical (application of a name or description to something to which it is not literally applicable) then the answer is as follows:

If you remember that there is a saying that success (dream) is derived from 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration, 1% luck. Let us assume that you have done your part of 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration, but the 1% luck was not at your side.

So, dreams can come true. It seems that when you wish hard enough, dreams actually do come true sometimes. Maybe a better way of putting that is when things get so bad that they can’t get much worse, sometimes good things happen.

Try again and good luck!

Dreams are concerned with our hidden desires. They are also concerned with our hopes.

Many people think dreams are concerned with what is going to happen in the future, but this is only true for a few 'special' individuals who somehow have premonitions in their dreams. Most of us 'normal' folk just get by with our normal dreaming.

It would be nice if they did come true though, wouldn't it?

its just too good to be true,
in dreams we can be beyond our self and beyond everyone else.. and n the end we rely on what we are, of what we have and up to where we can only reach...
dreams are too metaphysical that theres too much fantasy of or own standards and or own will to be wished to be achieved, but we end up only dreaming and then waking up to the reality, and begins back to zero.
we can have dreams that are wishful thinking.. a part of our pre-conscious level that lets us want things, persons, situations etc... that are not attainable. its just a desire.
sometimes, dreams only guide us and send messages in a hidden pattern that we our selves can be the only ones to figure out. then we can apply it and interpret it as future hindrances and fortunes come.

why would they is the question.. why would you even have a hint of the thought that they may? there is no reason to expect or think they might. since you, your brain, and the rest of the universe is all physical matter that reacts occording to laws... then your question is the same as asking why your body cant fly.. because it just doesnt, because thats not how things work. that is not the funcuion of dreaming.

dreams r just visions of our inner fears and desires... in dreams u can see urself as whatever u want to be but u r not because some fear or responsibility is holding u back.. dreams r visions of our past..they do not predict future
