It means that the question you asked is going to expire but I have never done it so I can't tell you how to extend it.

when you ask a question on yahoo answers it has a time limit to expire. The heads up is to ask you if you would like to keep the queston open a little longer to allow more responses. If you do you just follow the link and say yes. If not, do nothing.

If you don't select a best answer before time is up, your question will automatically go into voting, where anyone can select a best answer. If you want to extend the time that your question is open for responses, and give yourself more time to select a best answer, you can click the Pencil icon and choose to Extend the open period.

It means Yahoo thinks writing like an ignorant moron is cool.

Translated into intelligent speak it means, "Please note that you may wish to extend the amount of time other people have to answer your question as this time will soon expire."

I know three meanings to "heads up", two of them from baseball.
1) You say "head's up" when the ball is in the air and about to
land on somebody's head who is not looking.
2) A "head's up" play is ones where the player used quick
thinking to make a good play.
3) Thanks for the "head's up" means "thanks for giving me the information or warning" about something.

I hope this answers your question.
