I realize that there are certain regions of the country that are divided up geographically, but beyond that I am lost. Any skilled addict out there willing to enlighten us? Most of my life I have ignored this sport, but living in the state of Arkansas now, it has been hard to ignore this year, particularly. Unlike most men, I HAVE a life beyond football. LOL Yes, I know, strange duck.... and yet I live with it and I am happy as well. Crazy huh?

Sorry ladies, I am already married. LOL In fact, it was my wife who got me interested in the game this year. She so loves an underdog.

One more thing. How many Bowl Games are there, and what is the order of prestige? Again, who determines what team plays in what bowl? Please, anyone?? The wife and I need to be brought up to speed on this diversion from reality.

Well Bow Hunter, I took your advise and went to the college bowl site. That read more like a politically correct , i.e. - there are no losers, and an info commercial for who ever wanted to be the sponsor.

But I'm still confused about the BCS. Will spend more time to figure that selection process out.
Thanks, I think.
This is beginning to border on too much knowledge. LOL This may be my last season to care. Haha.

There are 31 bowl games. Check out "College Football Bowl Games" on the internet. This year the Fiesta Bowl is reserved for the "National Championship." Where a team is from has little bearing on which bowl they play in. There used to be bowls that had contracts with 2 conferences but the BCS has ruined that.

In college football, there are several bowl games. In the NFL, there's only one...the Super Bowl. Well, then after that, there's the pro bowl but that's kind of like an all-star game.

Go to wikipedia and type in college football. That might be of some help to you.
