I have to decide quickley on where I should finish my schooling for electronics engineering technician. I am currently enrolled into a state university that that is not TAC/ABET (Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) accredited. I have found a community college that is TAC/ABET accredited and the school is geared more for the engineering tech students. I am just not sure if I should go to a community college over a state college even though it looks like I would get better education. How important is the TAC/ABET accreditation and would it make a big difference if I had a degree from a University or Community college?I am running out of time so any advice would be helpfull thanks.

Definitely go for the accredited school. It makes a big difference.

Are you going to need a license when you graduate? If so, then any accredited school will be better for you than an unaccredited one. For example, to become a lawyer in the U.S., you must go to a school accredited by the American Bar Association. No accreditation, no bar exam, and therefore no job.

There were engineering programs that were and were not ABET accredited at my college. I got the ABET program, but I've never been asked in any job application if it was. It sure doesn't go on your resume.

I think the name of the school is more important.

The accreditation is what counts. A state school does not automatically mean it's a better school. They obviously don't offer what you need, so it would probably be in your best interest to transfer.

It all depends on your aptitude and likes.
Others should not take a decision for you.
Even then if you are not getting an answer, try flipping a coin!
