Stephen King, no doubt about it. He writes stories to draw the reader in and keep him in until the story is over. As much as I love Christopher Paolini and his Inheritance Trilogy, Stephen King is without a doubt the best in my opinion.

My favorite writer -at the moment- is Anne Rice. Besides the gothic themes and the detail that makes it seem like she actually knows whats really going on, the novels have a certain quality that relates to the individual. She touches on everything from music to psychological disorders like Depression and Necromania (a fascination with the dead). They are also not too violent and have always made me think about something new, something underlying the plot. My favorite book from her is Violin and I have no Idea why.

Richard Matheson. He is the master of horror. Stephen King even hails him as the reason why he wanted to become a horror writer himself.

Karl Marx.
I still have to give credit to him for shaking my reality up as a very young woman to the alternate universe of justice. The music has changed over all these years, but the echo always remains.

my favorite author at the moment is Zane. I have been reading her books non-stop for the past few weeks. in every book there is a different story line and different story endings. most of her novels don't follow the normal format and they can be related more to reality than to fairy tales.
