this is just a part time job i'm at to just make extra money. there is no contract or anything it's just a job. i know they should but is it a law that they have to? these people are very cheap.

It sounds as if you are not a member of a union, therefore you do not have a contract with this employer. By law this employer is not compelled to pay you extra to work on holidays, unless that is something that is done for other employees. Keep in mind that part-timers frequently do not have tha same perks as full-timers.

In the UK no there is no Employment Law for this although most employers. However you should find something in your contract or Letter of Employememt.

Most employers will pay you time and a half or double time for working on a holiday.
