I was getting bigger at 3 months but still wore my dress pants I had previously for work!! I wore jeans as well because maternity clothes are expensive and can be brutal some of the time!! You shouldn't have to feel like a mom in mom clothes until the baby is born, LOL...just kidding!! They say you shouldn't because it causes some of the blood that they baby needs to stop flowing and I've also heard a baby finds it harder to breath!!! I am always asking, reading and listening to what people had to say of what I should and shouldn't do and let me just tell you that if you do the same thing I do by listening to all of the old wives tales then you are going to be bored and think you can't do anything!! I painted, dyed my hair, went skiidooing, quadding, continued teaching my fitness class where I had to obviously jump around, I did ALOT of things some people would freak about even thinking of them!!! However I am okay and so is my daughter who is 4 1/2 months old...Oh yeah I also drank ALOT of Pepsi..
The way I see it is if you are comfortable wearing tighter pants that aren't hurting you or cutting you or you cant breath...wear em'!! If something doesn't feel right or you just plain dont want to! DONT!! Your baby and your body but no there will be nothing wrong with your baby......She/he is very very protected :) Good luck and Congrats hun!

If your pants are snug already....it won't be long before they are too uncomfortable for you to wear. Pretty soon your belly will start popping out.

I don't know if it is harmful to the fetus, because the fetus has a lot of protection in there with the amniotic fluid, but better safe then sorry. Give that little guy some room to grow!!! You are not going to make it through your entire pregnance without having to wear maternity clothes.

I have the same dress at my work (except we don't get to wear jeans:( ) I'm currently 12 weeks with number two. I don't think it could casue any harm while you are in this stage, just like you can still sleep on your stomach until it becomes uncomfortable. I was using the rubberband tech. and safty pins for a little added room. Well, I went ahead and went shopping for a few maternity clothes last weekend and when I tried them on, They Fit! You'll be surprised;) Sounds like you are not that far away from maternity yourself! Congrats and Good Luck!

My first pregnany I wore regual clothes all the way throughmy trick with my jeans was to get a hair tie and put it throughthe button hole and then around the button to five me an extra inch or so inthe front. But up until about 5/6 months I wore then done up the regual way.

Baby is well protected inside of your belly by layers of fat, muscle, and that womb. I think that if your pants feel okay to you and they are not so tight that they hurt, then keep wearing them until you show. You can even try to wear them under your belly when you start to show. Good luck!!

I don't think tight clothes affect the baby...I think they probably will just get uncomfortable...

My cousin's ex-wife wore tight clothes throughout her pregnancy. The baby was born with a slight dent in her head.

As long as you're comfortable, there isn't a problem.
