I have worked with more than my fair share of Filipino nurses in hospitals and nursing homes. I was NOT impressed with their nursing skills, and especially not with their interpersonal skills. There were a few, of course, who were wonderful, but many held grudges and were not honest when questioned about what was bothering them. I also found them to be cold and unsympathetic with patients in pain, those needing diaper changes and slow in responding to call lights.
The best advice I can give you is to be friendly, cooperative, and sympathetic. Patients are your customers, and they are the reason you will have a job. Respect them and treat them, and your co-workers, with kindness and respect. Just because you asked the question, I think you'll probably be a good nurse, because you care.

I'm a native New Yorker of Asian descent. As far as I know, I am only aware that the Philippines is the only country that seem to educate nurses who work abroad. Other Asian nurses are usually native to those countries. For example, an ethnically Chinese nurse in New York (or in London) is native born in USA (or in England). Being Filipino or not has nothing to do with your education, experience and work ethic. In any case, I have met Filipino nurses in NY since my friend works at Visiting Nurse of NY. Good reputation on the whole. (There is also a HUGE population of Filipinas who are au pairs in Hong Kong.)

No. really not a pretty us of a or "between the most beautiful" international places. Sorry, yet it really is an rather frank and honest answer As a shuttle author, i have been to quite a few different "island international places" AND the Philippines. a number of the extremely beautiful island countries i have been to and written about comprise: Cyprus, Malta, Madeira Islands (Portugal), St Kitts & Nevis, Bermuda, Bahamas, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion and in route of the Philippines- Maldives, Taiwan and Singapore. And regrettably, i found that Filipinos are literally not outspoken or lively those with a "can do" spirit. that is meditated aptly by the state of the rustic's monetary device. clearly beautiful: deforestation contained in the Philippines has brought about quite a few mudslides and landslides which have taken toll of 1000's of lives. Blast fishing in estuaries, backwaters and shallow waters have left the rustic's marine organic international is quite a few parts, in shambles. Unchecked pollution keeps to threaten the seas around the Philippines. Culturally beautiful: between the most apalling issues i found for the duration of my visits to the Philippines is that maximum Filipinos have a tendency to perceive themselves extra as some variety of individuals fairly than Filipinos. overseas lifestyle is extra obtrusive everywhere fairly that genuine Filipino lifestyle. awesome that Asia's first republic keeps to stay lower than the hangover of yank colonial rule.
