i just tried 2 update my ipod & it has said that the playlists no longer exist & its cleared all of the songs?

my iopd has just been cleared because it says that my playlists no longer exist but they do on the itunes library, it has deleted 1014 songs which i have mostly bought of itunes. How can i get my songs back on my ipod??

Here is what iTunes said to me (so I bought a MP4 player) Eventually ALL files will only be compatible with the APPLE ipods ONLY. you will not be able to convert them into other formats (ie MP3, MP4,WMA etc) they may not be compatible with other ipods. All updates will re-program your current ipod to accept the new files, but any existing files may not be compatible and will be deleted or rendered unavailable (copyright procedures so they say) Check with Itunes as this sounds to me that something very fishy is going on.

Thats Because Itunes SUCKS . I said goodbye to Itunes a long time ago . Now I use this to download stuff onto my ipod

Plug Your iPod back in-Launch iTunes.
Then Click on your iPod Icon when It appears in iTunes.
From there select preferences-Sounds like you've Not checked 'Update ALL'.
Then Click Refresh-That should work!

im afraid all your tunes have gone.... borrow your favourite cd's off a mate to rip in windows media player, also download tunes from ''limewire'' free, as you have already paid enough, you are entitled to some free ones...
