Depends, I know a lot of spry older "grandparent" types that have no problem with the quick reaction times required for attentive driving. However, there are those behind the wheel that would take about an hour to remove a hot poker from their eyeball, those should not be allowed to have a license. Maybe the DMV should have a reaction test along with vision.

I think they should have to take road test every two years after the age of 65. And if the driving examiner is brave enough - I think seniors should also have to prove that they can merge into traffic on an expressway and drive the legal speed limit.

yes if they are still capable. I have seen a few really old doddery people driving and it is quite scary. their reactions are not as quick as they used to be and maybe their vision is impaired a bit too. for some old people they would never leave the house if they didn't have a car so it would be a bit mean to say they cant drive wouldn't it? we should ask weather young people should be on the road as a lot of boy racers cause a lot or accidents don't they?

Personally I think that everyone should have to take a test, and I am not sure what would be fair, at regular intervals to determine if they can safely operate a motor vechile. If they can not then they should loose thier license. I do not think that just an eye test is good enough.

Of course they are the most reliable and safest that I've seen, the ones that should not be on the road are the younger ones that are not able to read the rule book or understand it

Why not? Should teenagers be allowed on the road? Same thing.

Yes, but they should have a flashing light on the roof of their cars so that everyone else could get out of their way.
