I agree with the fried mushrooms, make sure there is ranch dressing for dipping.
I also like to mozzarella sticks as an appetizer.
This also depends on the type of restaurant your talking about. If it's a seafood place there is nothing wrong with seafood stuffed mushroom caps.
If it's a steak place, then how about cheese and bacon covdred fries similar to what the 'Lonestar" chain offers.

the usual fries mashed potatoes and a veggie (I would have one regular veg and one daily veg that changes periodically) also baked potatoes but they're hard to prepare daily, and another side item that I get requests for a LOT is onion rings. Everyone seems to want onion rings these days. Also cole slaw is a popular one and mac&chz. It really depends on what type of entrees you will be serving.
