There are lots of books, magazine articles, and websites about starting a business. However, there's a lot you can do yourself with a pencil and paper and some thought.

What will you be selling?
To whom will you be selling it?
Why will they want to buy it?
What's the competition like?
Why will they want to buy it from you rather than someone else?
How much can you charge for it?
How many can you sell?
What do you need to get started and how much will it cost?
How long will people continue to want what you have to offer?

Once you have convinced yourself that your idea is worth pursuing, you'll find plenty of people to help and lots of advice.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* What No One Ever Tells You about Starting Your Own Business: Real-Life Start-Up Advice from 101 Successful Entrepreneurs (What No One Ever Tells You About Starting Your Own Business) by Jan Norman
* Business Start-Up Kit by Steven D. Strauss
* Start Your Own Business (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Up) by Rieva Lesonsky

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

You can start your own online affiliate marketing business.Means selling someone else's products (generally digital- ebooks, softwares, subscription services etc.) and can earn handsome returns with a very little start up cost. The main advantage with affiliate marketing is that -suppose the product you are promoting is not selling well due to some reason, you can drop that product & chose something else to sell.In short as an affiliate you are essentially a free-lance marketer - not bound by long-term contracts having a freedom to review/revise/remould your plans as per the demand in the market .There are lots of people out there there -- people just like you -- who are enjoying the financial freedom that comes with successful affiliate marketing.

Before you do that, make sure you have more business than you can handle right now. Don't start cold, you will crash and burn.
