since right handed is dominate you can make the chart to determine if they can have a lefty. So if they both have 1 lefty gene as said above there is a 1 in 4 chance.

| R | L

R | RR | RL

L | LR | LL

LL will produce lefthanded. Hopefully that chart will help.

Yes there is a 1 in 4 chance of having a lefty.

If one parent is left handed it's upped to about 50/50 and if BOTH parents are leftys then it's almost 75% likely they'll have a lefty

Absolutely, I am left-handed an my mother and father are both right-handed... I don't know anyone in my family who is left handed besides me. I am left handed, meaning I write and eat with my left hand, but I play all sports right-handed. Not sure what that means...

Yes. I'm left handed and both my parents are right handed. I actually think I'm the only left-handed person in the entire family (cousin's included).

Yes they can. My aunt is left handed and my grandparents both are not. My little sister is left handed and both of my parents are not. It happens... The same as two blonds having a brunette or two brunettes having a blond headed child. It is all very possible. Our genetic makeups are complicated and we can inherit genes from WAY back.

Absolutely. The genetic code for left handed is a ressesive gene, however, if both parents carry it from down through their respective blood lines, & at conception both the egg and the sperm that fertilizes it have the genetic code for left handedness in them. Guess what? Your child will be left handed.
