i see so many people who answer the actual question itself without reading the added details...does it really take that long to read a few extra lines?

i'd rather read the extra details and not look like an idiot.

I like curious#1's answer.

There is a flipside to this of course, when you ask a question and give an example of somthing in the extra details, and then everybody focuses on the example and forgets to answer the question.

By the way, I was just reading a question about gay people and one of the answers was "It's not like they're the locknest monster or anything".

I have wondered this so many times!! Someone once posted about having a baby and in the added details she explained that the baby had died, and you would not believe how many people were congratulating her on having the baby and telling her to take good care of herself and the baby!! If I could have jumped through the screen and slapped a couple of people that day I would have!

Sometimes people post the extra details hours after they post the question.
