um...how to begin?
It's so weird....I haven't started my period yet, but every once in a while, sometimes every day, I find this whitish....oh, how to discribe it? This white, thick, liquidy stuff in my underwear. I asked my mom what it was, but she kept saying "nothing! it's nothing!"
What is it?

Its called: discharge.,..That white milky substance. All women get that.. Except when you are at the ages, to where your going throught menopause, then its opposite, women will tend to get really dry down there, during the Menopause months.. And years, however they go through it.. If your period is late, do you keep track, through a Calendar? If not your period might not be late at all..Ever since I was in Jr.High School, our P.E., teacher taught all of us girls to get a Calendar from our Mom's and everytime we got it, to right it down on our Calendar, in a way, thats descrete like.. Like in P.E., those girls who were on their periods, got to take private showers. So, we'd have to say our Number, and R. Just the letter R.. So, ever since that school year, which was 7th grade for me, I started to keeping it marked on my Calendar. I'd just write Started R. Then I would count 28 days later, from the day I started and right on the next month, Expect R. Or R.due.. I know it sounds "Corny" but, guess what because of this, I knew exactly the day my son, was concieved. And when he'd be due. I was only two days off, from the doctor, because of writing down my periods, since I was 12, altho I didn't start having sex with boys, until I was 18, years old... I was proud of being a virgin. And I think every young lady should never cut herself short, for any school boys... I teach my kids that If they dont have a car, a job, a bank account, and have graduated high school, then you are too young, to be even kissing them. Because we all know kissing leads to other things... So, they are really taking me seriously, thus far. I told my girls, dont sell yourselves short, for any boy. If they like you that much, they'll wait, and if they dont, than they were only after one thing.. And you would have lost apart of yourself, in the process, to him and have regrets later on in life.. My oldest daughter, didn't listen to me,and we but heads, all of her young teen years, and now she's talking to her little sister, too, about the importance of staying a Virgin.. From Experience! Good-Luck, to you, hun. I hope for your sake you'll get your period.. smile! It'll will all take care of itself, in the end... But, Respect your body, its yours, dont allow boys, to take a peice of your heart, if their too young to be doing grown-up, things, it willl only take away all of your dreams, honey. I cant be more serious than I am as we speak.. Dont let anyone take away your dreams.. You dont want to grow up having regrets... You have a really nice day, for me.. Smile...

It's normal vaginal mucus. It's a multi-purpose fluid, it keeps the vagina moist, washes away bacteria, and acts as lubricant during sexual intercourse. you'll probably find you produce more of it when you get horny, which may have been why your mom was embarrassed to talk about it.... It usually starts out clear and liquidy around the time you ovulate, which is when you're the most fertile, and progresses to more white and creamy until you hit your next period. The most accurate way for a woman to guage her fertility is by evaluating the color and texture of her vaginal mucus, any ob/gyn will tell you that. You should never be embarrassed about how much mucus you produce, guys love it, and as long as it doesn't smell or change colors from the usual clear/white, you're fine. A lot of women don't produce enough natural lubricant, and would LOVE to be in a situation where they had to wear pantyliners because of that. Some even have to supplement artificial lubricant just to be comfortable throughout the day.

well the white stuff is a discharge and very normal when your hormones are kicking in. I have a daughter and when she started having that it wasn't but a few months later she started her period. Your mom is probably just as nervous about it then you are, I was I thought oh my, my baby is growing and it is hard for a mother to accept even though it happens. So try to understand where your mom is coming from by not saying anything.... Hope this helps.

The disease you are talking about is toxic shock syndrome. If you read the leaflet inside the box of tampons this will tell you more about it and the symptoms. With regards to how long, well everyone's menstruation flow is different so make sure you use the correct tampon i.e Regular, Super, Super Plus. I'm a super plus and a towel girl, :( i have to change my tampon roughly every 2 hours. Make sure you only use a tampon when ur period has arrived. If u know roughly when your period is coming u could always try wearing a panty liner til it arrives then onto the tampons.

It is cervical mucus. I know this sounds gross, but it is completely normal. Once you start getting your period, you will probably notice it more during the middle of "your month". If you do a seach online, you will find a lot of websites that will explain what it is and why you have it.

It's just discharge. It's nothing to worry about. Lots of girls have it as a precursor to starting their period. It probably won't be long.

It is just normal discharge, there is nothing wrong with you. Wear a pantyliner to keep your underwear clean, you will be fine sweetie.
