It's called "And Tango Makes Three." It's about a pair of male penguins at a zoo that raised a chick together. (It's based on real events.) An Illinois school has it, and some parents there are not happy about that at *all*.

I'm bi, and I love penguins, and I've seen the book. There's nothing sexual--it's a cute story with cute penguins. I also think it's a good thing for kids to see all kinds of families reflected, since the public schools are for everyone's kids.

But I want to know what y'all think. :-)

It depends on what the agenda behind it is. The homosexual lobbyist have tried to sucker punch the schools so many times with "gay awareness" which is just away to force morals into the school. Now, before anyone gets a wrong idea, let me just say that I disagree with any morals being tought in the school system that are mandatory. A few years ago the video "We are family" came out and was set to be sent to x amount of schools. What we parents did not hear about from the promo was that the kids had to sign a pledge along with watching this video.

As for this book, I would read it first to see if it were fit for my kids to read. I am sure any good parent will want to know exactly what their kids are reading.

I'm not a religous fundamentalist, and i hate gay bashers. I also support the concept of gay marriage. In other words, I'm not a homophobe, but I have a problem with politically correct propaganda being subtly placed in children's hands. I think our public schools should worry more about reading, writing, math, history, and science, and worry less about Heather has Two Mommies.

It sounds like a cute book. It deals with love and family. I don`t see how anyone should complain. If it were my child I wouldn`t hesitate to endorse it.
