I am married, and I have no idea what you are talking about. There were no costs associated with the proposal. You don't need to pay anyone to write up and file a "marriage agreement" at the engagement stage. Traditionally, however, the person who proposes offers a gift in exchange for the promise of marriage. This is a conditional gift, usually a ring, to which the giver is entitled if the receiver breaks the engagement. There is no set cost for the value of this gift. My husband bought me a ring. I don't know how much he paid for that. Really, the proposal is just a verbal agreement, so no money is involved.

When the time came to get married, we had to pay something like $30 for the processing of all of the paperwork. That's it. Marriage is a relatively cheap business here in the states.

There is no "supposed to cost" with proposals. Way back when the standard was that the ring should cost 2 month's salary, but that was when people didn't have 6 figure salaries. I would recommend saving up what you can to get her a ring that symbolizes your love but her answer should never be based on the size of the ring. How you propose is entirely up to you. Pick something that has real meaning to both of you. Take her to the place you first met, or to an activity you love to do together. But it is best not to make it a public proposal unless you are positive she will say yes as it could be embarrassing for both of you. Remember if you don't have the money to buy her the size of a diamond that you want right now you have the rest of your lives together to get her one that is bigger. Just make the moment about telling her how much you love her and that you want to spend the rest of your lives together. That's all that matters.

in case you're talking approximately how plenty an alien will pay a citizen to marry them for a green card, i've got heard everywhere from $3000-$ten thousand. it is not a great form of money once you think approximately that the entire technique can take 2 and a nil.5 to 3 years or longer to get the unconditional everlasting residency. additionally the citizen sponsoring the alien is in charge for any public money paid to the alien (eg welfare) for a era of 10 years.
