Brain power doesn't have e much to do with it. It will be the one who can raise the most money and hire the best support staff. On the Republican side it will be dicey as it will be a battle between the moderates and conservatives. The conservatives do not have anyone who can beat Hillary. Will they fall in behind a moderate candidate, that is the big question? It depends how bad they want to beat Hillary and my guess is that most of them will. It will not be Newt.

Newt on the ticket would be the best thing possible for the Democrats. I don't think any reasonable or sane person would want him anywhere near the White House. As a Democrat, I'm hoping the GOP do nominate him. It would be a landslide for the Democrats.

He would be an appropriate representative of Republican "values", as he served his first wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital with cancer and divorcing his second wife after he had had an affair with an aide.
