since i've found out i'm pregnant I keep have pain on my left side (from just under the ribs to my pelvic area) and not only that i keep getting thrush on the days when my period is suppose to be due when i'm not pregnant. Is this normal? I've got canestan thrust cream from the doctor but according to the instruction i should let him know if i have more than 2 infection within the last 6 mths. I'm scared I'll get another infection later this month again and I'm also scared that i might have problems with the pregnancy. Could anybody put my mind at rest?

Thanks for all the info, I believe i'm 2 mths along but waiting for my first scan to confirm. I'm very regular, the first home test i took was negative but got a very definite positive at my next missed period so i'm going by my body clock until told otherwise. Because it is my first i'm probably more paranoid than usual and haven't told any of my close friends, I thought I'll wait until the scan. Other than my doctors app to confirm my preg, i've not had any contact with midwives or nurses. I've tried to book app but they won't be available for a few wks.
And thanks again everybody for putting my mind at ease.

The pain is from a muscle there - no biggee. As for the thrush - highly normal is pregnancy. It can cause other problems though, so for good health, drink as much water as you can handle. If you are not a water drinker, figure out how to get it down. You will need lots of water during pregnany and after, especially if you plan to nurse. Pee after intercourse. No baths. Find someone who knows lots about preg. I am not in the medical profession, but have had 3 children, miscarried and am preg now. I have experience on my side, but I also study a lot - its better to couple it with a live person to balance everything out. There are lots of opinions out there. Having someone who knows helps - I mean someone from a more natural side, not a dr who looks at it as a"condition." I hope this helps! Relax. Children are a blessing and this is only the beginning! I fyou can put your fears to bed, you will enjoy everything so much more!

All the answers are spot on. Your left side could also be where the implantation has occurred so you can get some aches and pains there. If the pains becomes sharp and constant then you should definitely get it checked out but otherwise try not to worry. I know its easier said than done but I've been in your shoes so know how it is easy for concerns to escalate if you allow them to.
Your hormones levels will have increased more than ever during this time so the yeast infection can be greater. Try cranberry juice which is great for alleviating urine infections etc. If you don't like cranberry juice (like me) then you can get cranberry capsules which are just as good but without the taste.
Good luck and just keep your midwife informed. She should have also given you her number so any niggles, no matter how silly they may seem to you, call her. She's there to reassure you as well as advise and assist in the delivery.

Ok paranoia sets in when pregnant..I'm not a doctor so I might be wrong but in my experience and I have had 2 babies.. the pain in your left side is probably very normal.. When pregnant everything inside is either growing or being pushed aside to accomodate your growing baby and twinges will occur, in my case often..This did tend to subside but not til well into my pregnancies..I guess you should worry if you didn't have these pains now I know them to be normal but first time round I was so concered too..Always check things out with your midwife though and your never putting them out as they are paid to be on call for you whatever your issues and concerns.. As for the thrush.. It's not harmful to your baby as it is protected due to your crevix being closed..Thrush can occurs loads in pregnancy probably because of all the hormone changes.. A book I found interesting and helpful was Your Pregnancy Week by Week by Glade B Curtis published by Element.. Good Luck with you pregnancy..

dont worry about a thing, its natural to have all sorts of pains when you are first pregnant, and its even more alarming and you worry about it more than you would if you werent pregnant. just try to relax, your body will just be getting adjusted ready for the 9months ahead. and dont worry about infections or thrush, i had thrush constantly throughout my pregnancy, it can be worse due to hormonal changes, its safe to use cream or take any medication prescribed by your doc. infections down there generally do not affect pregnancy, your baby is protected by your waters it provides a sterile barrier so try not to worry. good luck and congradulations on your pregnancy xx

its fine, completely normal. your pain is you body stretching to make room for your baby, as for thrush are you sure its thrush, while your pregnant you secrete extra discharge. but even if its thrush your baby is completely safe. the infection will not affect it what so ever. hope that put your mind at rest.

the pains are probably just from the stretching of your body getting ready to carry your baby, and as far as the thrust, just try not to worry and make sure you let your doctor know everything and go to all your check ups, i think you'll be fine.
