Mack the Knife, originally Die Moritat von Mackie Messer, is a song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for their music drama Dreigroschenoper, or, as it is known in English, The Threepenny Opera. It premiered in Berlin in 1928. The song has become a pop standard.

It was then translated and performed by Louis Armstrong (1956) and Bobby Darin (1959).

Satchmo did the English version first, but Bobby Darin's version is better known.

But it was originally composed in German by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht for "Dreigroschenoper" ("the Threepenny Opera").

The warden pleaded guilty to this but claimed he was set up by the social workers and psychiatrists.

Some people have no sense of humour and no lateral thinking capacity.
