sometimes there is a mail failure even though the addresses are right and the recepients have received newsletters in the past.

Not sure just what your question is -- are you talking about email or snail mail? Either way, there can be some problems that show up sporadically. I send newsletters out monthly and suddenly had one return -- seems it had the wrong zip code! The person had been receiving it OK for 2 years!! But then it bounced & I found out the zip was wrong -- apparently it was being delivered anyway, all that time, until that final time.

Also, I've noticed that sometimes when a new mail carrier comes on board, or there is vacation coverage, there will be problems with mail delivery that the regular carrier would easily spot and take care of. So, that may be the source of your problems.
