I am 23 & for as long as I have been applying make up I have only ever been using foundation & only recently been applying a bit of blusher as I'm very pale & wanted a bit of colour on my cheeks!

I don't like wearing lipstick but will wear lip gloss only if I'm out for the evening (which isn't often at all) & will apply mascara also for the evenings out! I gave up smoking last week & will be using the money I save to treat myself to a new style (clothes related). I feel very plain in the face & was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, I don't want to plaster on the make up & it has to be simple as my 3 children don't give me a lot of time to get ready in the morning.

I've always thought the natural look was the best but I'm open to new things so will give anything a try.

My sister is a hairdresser so my hair is sorted although I'm always too scared to try anything dramatic. It's medium length, light brown with a few highlights through it. My sister is dying to cut it for me!!!

I am also very pale.
I would definately go with eyeshadow. You can do simple, very easy eyeshadow in a natural color, or you can experiment with different colors and application styles.
I believe eyes are very important for makeup and for looks in general. I will use eye shadow even when I don't use mascara.
For a neutral look, I use a dark brown shadow in the crease of my lid, a medium brown for the whole lid, and light creme color for the brow bone, and blend. If you want simpler, use a brown (the shade you prefer) and use that on the entire lid or just in the crease.
For a more dramatic look, line your upper lash line with a color, like deep purple (or whatever you prefer) and smudge it upward a little. Then, use a neutral shadow on the lid. It adds just a little pop of color.
Furthermore, Almay makes kits for different eye colors. Though they have a lot of color, they may be a good starting point.

well, first off, the "natural" look is not actually "natural"!!! it's the illusion of no make up!! If you have good skin tone, I would suggest a highlighter, (like benefit high beam) along the cheeck bone and a tiny bit of shimmery pale pink blusher on the apple of the cheek (try pout or lancome) to give you a quick health glow. Switch to a lip gloss with a tint (like lancome juicy tubes) in a deep pink (adds instant colour to the whole face) and ALWAYS put black mascara on your top lid's eyelashes!! If you have pale eyebrows, put a little bit of pencil in them (body shop eyebrow pencil blonde) as this gives good shape to the whole face. Use a light dusting of loose face powder too (mac blot powder medium).
I know this sounds like a lot, but it literally takes me 6 mins in the morn to do this and i do it in the car. If you want, switch to a tinted mosturiser. This will save time, is better for your skin and is easy to top up during the day and is more natural.

I think the most important part are the eyes. That is what I focus on. But when you do the eyes, you can't do or shouldn't do very much with the blush. Use a color or 2 for the eyelids that compliment your eye color, also eyeliner, black is classic, and a good mascara. I think that the new covergirl mascara in the purple tube that has the rubber brush is great. Also, treat yourself to an eyebrow waxing or plucking, whichever you prefer. And when you like the natural look, use something like the 'cream and sugar' lipgloss from mary kaye, I love it. Also, another good idea is go to a dept. store and in the cosmetic area, ask for someone there to give you a makeover, tell them that you prefer to look natural. Or you can ask a Mary Kay woman to come to your home, and give you a private session. No, I do not work for MK, but I love the products. Have fun!

sorry sent before I was finish. The mascara has to be a good one. One that does not clump your lashes. Needs to curl and lift. The lip gloss is fine. Purchase just one tube of lipstick. One that looks natural that no one really will notice it is on for those really special occassions. Glad you gave up smoking..make sure your teeth are white now. Cheap remedy brush with baking soda and rinse with perioxide. Just don't swallow. Gotta have white teeth.
Hope I helped. The other part was to cleanse, tone, moisturize. Make sure you have a good foundation. One that really matches your skin. Check out Lancone, Clinique. Store bought can look cheap at times. Brows- wax, pluck have them professional shaped. Your hair what does it look like..Color and a great cut will go along way.

First off-congratulations on quitting smoking!!! I've tried soooo many times and I know how hard it is!! Good for you!! Now on to the answer...I know what you mean about not liking too much makeup-I like to go for the natural look myself and I'm very fair skinned as well, I recently started using Bare Minerals-and it's awesome stuff!!! Very subtle, but it will cover just about anything without the heaviness of liquid makeup, when you order your first kit, they will send you a free VHS or DVD to give you step by step tips on how to do the natural look-and it looks great!! It may seem pricey at first-but you actually use such a small amount that mine ends up only costing about $10 a month-which includes foundation, mineral veil (it's like powder) and they sent me a free warmer (like a bronzer) that I use as blush. For lipstick I've found that L'oreal has the best colors-my fave is Timeless Tawny. It's subtle but a great color! hope this helps!

If a women decides to get an abortion or not directly effects the man involved financially, physically and emotionally. Child support and visitation doesn't matter if the man is single or married as it is all inter connected. By negating men's rights in regard to the debate of abortion some hope action is never taken in regards to the double standards that exist in women being able to decide whether to carry a pregnancy to term or not as men do not have that ability and must live with someone else's choice.

Instead of foundation go for a tinted moisturiser, Arden do a lovely one... called Sheer Lights.

I got a lovely bronzer (blusher) from Origins.

then go for a black kohl (rimmel's is great) along the bottom and smudge for a slightly smokey look.

then a mascara (always black) apply plenty (loreal lash architect is great, as is chanel inimitable)

then go for a lovely shimmery gloss on your lips. pale pinky gold colour

you will look natural and it will last all day.

for the evening do the same - just apply a little more gloss and a brightly coloured eyeshadow. i like to put a bright blue (from lancome) along my bottom lashes, rather than the top. looks great!

you will feel fab with a new look!

Do what makes you feel better - get yourself a new haircut... thankfully with the messy, windy weather -the messy hairdo look is in so doesn't take too much time to do it in the morning.
Buy natural colour make up if you like the natural look with warm glows to it to give your skin life in this awful weather.. and buy clothes to suite and flatter your figure... if you're not sure on this... check it out on some fashion magazines or websites...

Good luck... us women all like to add/edit things in our look now and then to keep us looking fresh and 'with it' - we have that advantage over men as they can't make as many changes as us... but it's good because we feel better after a new look once in a while... I know I do... and I'm 23 too..

xx

Congrats on giving up smoking!

The natural look is indeed the best in most cases, esp. since you have 3 kids.

I find a bronzing powder works well for me. I use it as my blusher and I also brush a little lightly over my forehead, nose, and chin. I use Chanel Irreelle Soleil silky bronzing powder. It's expensive, but lasts a long time.

you just need to love how you look without make up.
i know it sounds stupid, but if you are confident with how you look, that is the only thing that you need to be beautiful.

if you think that is crap, then why not try ditching the foundation, and concentrating on your eyes. buy some eye lash curlers, and some soft eye shadow and a little mascara. remember, morst people notice your eyes the most when they are talking to you, and its a really quick regeme.
hope this helps.
