Why are so often and quite everwhere women treated unequaly? Where does it come that they have been so long considered as being less responsible, strong, skilled...
It's so usual that we often take it for granted. But of course this is false and unfair, but we need to understand well the origines of such discrimination to be able to fight them correctly.
And what do you think about a women being the president of United States?

it doesn't seem so long ago that a woman's ' place 'was in the kitchen ; such was the mentality of the male species , that women were out of place anywhere else --- the male was the ' breadwinner ' and that's how it was .
woman have come a long way to stand up and be equal ; but it still haunts them that can't be on same level playing field when it comes to money , for example . women still earn less for the work they do , regardless of their skills ( take sport for example , say tennis , do women get the same prizemoney as a bloke ?? i think not !! )
the origins go way back for this discrimination ( don't question me i am a man ) and sadly an inferiority complex . and this has gone on for so long that it's not funny --- but don't despair dearie , i do believe the tide is turning ; albeit slowly ; but it will happen ; sooner rather than later , for madam president to be addressing the nation .

Don't mean to sound too manly, but my guess would be that it's just because women take mostly anything coming from a man as discrimination. I spent some time in Government class back when I was a kid and we had a task to find discriminatory statements in advertisements and other stuff and I couldn't find a thing. Maybe I'm just stupid, but those turned out to be so serious as "Never say this again". Remember that class even today.
From my stand point - let's just agree to differ. There's nothing wrong about it.
What about men being considered unorganized, rough and, admit it, stupid as well?
Just take it easy, if you want to do something - go ahead and do it. Now I know there are others thinking differently but hey men are treated the same, just open your eyes and look at things from a different perspective.
As for a female president - I don't care, but the problem is that most likely the main line of the candidate would be something like "Make a change, vote for a woman!" Now I wouldn't vote for that.
Kind of a long answer, isn't it :) Sorry about that, just wanted this to be heard. (Although that's not a fact either)
Cheers

Nobody is discriminated. It only the physiology of men & women that differs and hence accordingly the works are given to them. For example all delicate handling jobs and smiley jobs are given to women only take the case of receptionists or nurses or in assembling units of watches or other miniatures workshops. And for men the brute jobs are preferred. In olden days when there was no prevention for pregnancy women were more handicapped than now and also during the monthly menses period they were not having good devices to shelter them. Ofcourse now all that has been removed but still during the periods women definetly would feel the weakness. Morever though science has changed everything but still only women can become mothers and therefore they only have to take periodical leave whenever such an occasion arises. Simply harping over that men are discriminating the women is a wrong thing. Women have their own special place which no man can ever reach. The whole problem lies with the thinking of the women that they want to be like men and they are not able to. But most of the men never think that they should be like women and hence there is no troubling thoughts for them. All these are only facts and noway to her you. Thank you.

I know many strong professional women and I don't feel we are discriminated against. Women today are stronger and more powerful than we ever have been. I think we take our rights for granted instead of being thankful for them since most women in foreign countries don't have the opportunity we do. Also when it comes time for voting, I will vote for a woman if she stands for what I stand for. Other wise, my vote will go to someone else. I will not strictly vote for someone because of the genetic code.

women have proven that they can be responsible heads of state, but the idea that women are just lumpy men is silly. we are very different, through and through and in most every way. aint it grand?
