Demonstrate the polar nature of water. Get a very thin stream of water running from a faucet. Make it so slow it is almost comming our drop by drop, but have it be a continuous stream. Vigorously comb your hair with a plastic comb (this doesn't always work in summer due to humidity), then, slowly bring the comb close to the stream of water, do not let the comb tough the stream. You will see that the elctrostatic charge on the comb deflects the polar water molecules.
