It can take weeks. I think it really depends on the woman and how her body processes the miscarriage.
With my miscarriage, I started bleeding when I was 8 weeks pregnant, but the baby had passed at 5 weeks gestation.

Mild to severe back pain (often worse than normal menstrual cramps)
Weight loss
White-pink mucus
True contractions (very painful happening every 5-20 minutes)
Brown or bright red bleeding with or without cramps (20-30% of all pregnancies can experience some bleeding in early pregnancy, with about 50% of those resulting in normal pregnancies)
Tissue with clot like material passing from the vagina
Sudden decrease in signs of pregnancy . Remember that all miscarriages are different depending on how far along you are but these are the basic signs, you may get some or all.
My personal experience happened when I was like 6 weeks pregnant, I started to see very light spotting and really bad abdominal pain and my hsg levels kept dropping, which is a sure sign you are miscarrying. They did not have to remove anything, my body cleansed itself.

Well each person is different. I bled for 2 weeks and the docs said it was normal. Once the bleeding stopped...I found out I had to have a D&C (5 months pregnant) because there was no longer a heart beat. Go to the doctor or if you are having a lot of problems, go to the ER. Your doc will send you there anyway for ultrasounds. Good Luck!

My friend was about 11 weeks pregnant and she went to the dr for an ultrasound and they told her the baby had died at 8 weeks. She didn't start bleeding until 2 weeks after that, so that is a good month or more. Go to your doctor, it may be that a D&C is needed.

It just varies from woman to woman. I personally started cramping really early in the day and didn't start bleeding until early the next morning. It could take as many as 1 day to several weeks. Again, you should ask your Dr. D&C's will help clean out all the mess if needed. Good luck and God bless.

It all depends on the person. My friend was told her baby had died at 9 weeks into her pregnancy. She was booked in for 2 weeks later to have the baby removed and when she went she still hadn't started to bleed.

but a couple of weeks later i just did not feel pregnant anymore!i went to A&E and they said to wait until i was having my 12 weeks scan so i did... and that when they found that the baby had died at 6 weeks because it was so small....
