it particularly is hassle-free - you purchase a secure flea product like Frontline or benefit. they seem to be a month-to-month therapy that are utilized as drops to the returned of the top, and then absorbed into the floor. Very secure for the two cats and people, and extremely useful. You ask an rather good query approximately flea powders - extra people could save on with an identical worry-unfastened experience. This time of 12 months many, many cats are poisoned via over-the-counter flea powders and different flea treatments. They incorporate aspects that could reason seizures and dying in cats, and are distinctly deadly to kittens. The Hartz products are the worst offenders. There are actually many docs who're advocating that flea collars could be banned by way of poisonous chemical compounds that they unfold onto a cat's (or dogs's) fur - and then we touch them and get it on ourselves! Ditch the flea powder, or take it returned, and get your self a kitten-dose of benefit or Frontline. They paintings plenty extra helpful, or maybe although they fee extra it particularly is plenty extra fee-effective than taking your kitten to the emergency vet if he gets poisoned from eating the flea powder.

I had a cat that just recently passed away to fleas. I tried everything but nothing worked and it kept getting worse. I noticed that she was digging her ears alot and blood was coming out. She was going crazy. And when i checked in her ears i had noticed that fleas had gotten into her ears and was driving her crazy. When i took her to the vet and he checked her he said that there was nothing he could do. I had to put her to sleep cause it was no good letting her suffer. All i can tell you is keep checking the kitty's ears and the first sign of anything odd in he/she ears get it to the vet ASAP. Maybe unlike me you may be able to save yours. Also she could have had an allergic reaction to the stuff around her neck. Let it ware off and see what happens. If it goes away then that is what's doing it. Good Luck

I have never heard of an ointment you put on their heads for fleas...only the tube stuff you put at the nape of thier necks....there is also a pill (at least for dogs there is)...but maybe your cat is allergic to the ointment....you should call your vet and tell him and see what he says....my dog was actually allergic to fleas themselves! So one flea bite and he itched like no other and got a terrible rash so they had to be kept under control.

I think you answered your own question, its best to go with your hunch that the flea stuff has made her sick and take her to the vet.
One of my cats developed a big ulcer on the back of his neck where I put frontline flea stuff but he didnt get sick or act weird. the vet said he was allergic so perhaps your cat could be allergic too but much more so. good luck

Wash off with dish detergent and water. Call your vet. This happened to my dog a few years ago. We had to give large doses of benadryl and steroids. There is probably a toll-free number on the Hartz package-call & report the incident also.

My cat gets really mad.. Yes mad! at me when I put flea medicine on him... and wont even let me touch him. However if it doesnt pass in a day or to you should really check with your vet.
store bought flea med doesnt work I found that out the hard way...You really should get the flea med. from your vet.
