of course take clothes, although dont forget that most people studying abroad seem to integrate into the new society and the first thing they do is buy clothes from there also.
good advice is take some of the medicine you are used to like painkillers etc because you might have problems finding exactly the same things where you go.
dont over pack, travel light and ask your parents to send you things when you need them.

be careful with taking meds - they can be illegal in another country! once heard a woman got arrested in israel for taking painkillers prescribed by her doctor in the UK!
