On the benefits side... Basic technology like the wheel, pipes, saws, string, pots mean that we can spend less of our time just trying to keep alive.

The population that the world can sustain and the quality of life is very dependent on technology.

Disadvantages include - over population and rapid depletion of world resources. This is not so much the technology itself, but the consequences and also human nature to exploit thinds for the short term

Technology has endless benefits and detriments, dependant on the various trillions of perspectives available.

In general terms though... technology advancements benefit those who have them, and detriment those who do not.
They are a personal advantage... a means of increasing the efficiency of certain aspects of one's existence. This can give you an edge over your competition... which is a detriment to them.

That... is the most straight-forward answer I can give.
I'm not going to start listing examples as that would be superfluous.
